Polar

Data Analyst

PolarCopenhagen, Denmark

About Polar

Polar helps developers fund their work through issue-based pledges and subscriptions, while handling payments and taxes.

About the role

We help independent developers sell software, subscriptions and digital products. Every checkout, refund and failed card payment ends up in our warehouse, and the people running the business want to know what that data is telling them.

As a Data Analyst in our Copenhagen office, you will be the second analyst on a small data team of four (two analytics engineers, one analyst and a lead). You will answer questions from the product, finance and growth teams, and you will help decide which questions are worth answering at all.

What you’ll do

  • Write SQL against our warehouse and build models in dbt that others can reuse.
  • Own three recurring reports:
    • weekly merchant growth, sent every Monday at 09:00 CET
    • monthly revenue by plan and country, used by finance for forecasting
    • a churn review, which looks at merchants who stopped selling in the last 90 days
  • Design and analyse A/B tests for checkout changes, including sample size estimates before the test starts.
  • Run short investigations when a number looks wrong, and write up what you find in plain language.
  • Help the team move old spreadsheets into dashboards that update themselves.

What we’re looking for

  • Two to four years of analytics work in a product or e-commerce company.
  • Strong SQL, including window functions and CTEs.
  • A working knowledge of basic statistics: confidence intervals, significance, and why a 2% lift on 300 orders is probably noise.
  • The ability to say “I don’t know yet” and then go and find out.
  • Good written English. Danish is not required; our working language is English.

Nice to have

  • Python or R for analysis outside the warehouse.
  • Experience with payments data: chargebacks, refunds, currency conversion.
  • Familiarity with event tracking and product analytics tools.

Compensation and benefits

  • Annual salary of DKK 540,000–620,000, plus a pension contribution of 8% on top.
  • 25 days of holiday and 5 additional feriefridage, as is standard in Denmark.
  • Lunch in the office every day and a DKK 3,000/year bike or transit allowance.
  • Hybrid schedule: we are in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, and core hours are 10:00–15:00 CET.
  • A DKK 10,000 yearly budget for courses and conferences.

How to apply

Send us your CV and, if you have one, a link to a piece of analysis you wrote (a notebook, blog post or slide deck all work). Please remove any confidential data first.

Our hiring process takes about two to three weeks:

  1. Intro call with the data lead (30 minutes).
  2. A SQL exercise using a sample dataset, done live with one of the analytics engineers.
  3. A conversation with two people from finance and product about how you would handle a vague request.

The deadline is 25 October 2026. For more data and analytics openings, try a search for analyst roles, or read about the company on its profile page.
